"The idyllic holiday isle of Cyprus is probably best known for the buzzing beach resorts of Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos. Dig a little deeper, however, and you’ll find cultural and historical treasures aplenty. Pretty fishing villages, Byzantine churches, spectacular inland hiking routes through dramatic rocky gorges and the wild littoral landscapes of Greko National Park add up to a magical Cypriot experience."

The best time to visit Cyprus is between May and June. Not only is it one of the driest periods of the year on the island, but it's also nice and warm. Both temperatures and crowds are at their peak in July and August with midday temperatures reaching into the mid-30s °C. This weather is good for sitting pool-side or swimming in the sea, but too hot to be comfortable exploring and sightseeing for long periods.
