The last couple of years for travel have been turbulent to say the least, but with the continued easing of testing requirements, confidence continues to return and it’s time to plan those long-awaited big trips abroad. So where in the world should you go?

We live for our holidays. They are fun, make memories that last a lifetime and capture moments that bring smiles to our faces. With the challenges so many have faced, the planning, excitement and anticipation of spending quality time with family and friends in the sunshine with great facilities and food is returning. 2022 is the year of the holiday. 

Here are a few tips about destinations, experiences and hotels that excite us and may inspire consideration for the year ahead...

New Zealand

With its proposed re-opening in the forthcoming months, New Zealand is a fantastic choice for a motorhome/ touring holiday.

Galapagos Islands

How about cruising the Galapagos Islands along with an exploring adventure across South America, including the delights of Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Peru?

 

Family Group Holidays

 

With many having missed milestone birthdays and special anniversaries, we are seeing lots of multi-generational family groups wanting to all travel together to celebrate. 

Cancún, Mexico

Planet Hollywood Cancun opened in January 2021 and was an instant hit. With 11 restaurants, 4 pools, mini golf course, surf simulator and an adventure park, you can see why Planet Hollywood is so popular with family groups. It also has its own adults-only wing called Adults Scene for over 18s.

Florida, USA

Disney World remains hugely popular and celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and with the world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park opening shortly, Florida, of course, provides perfect family memories and a mixture of beach and family fun.     

If you prefer less park rides and crowds and more adventure, wonderful wildlife and sustainability then consider Canada or Costa Rica.

Family-Friendly Hotels

Dubai and the Emirates have incredible family-friendly hotels; and looking closer to home, the Greek islands are a summer certainty with the wonderful Ikos resorts in high demand and now excitingly expanding their stylish portfolio into Majorca and Portugal.

The Balearics are also in high demand with a range of resorts catering for all budgets, and Turkey remains great value with superb all-inclusive options. 

Villa Holidays

Villa holidays for extended family groups are ideal, especially in less commercialised and more remote areas. There are some wonderful properties in Greece, Portugal, Italy, Croatia and Cyprus.

 

Indian Ocean Paradise

 

The Indian Ocean is an increasingly appealing paradise and in the post-pandemic era, seeking out some indulgence for that getting-away-from-it-all experience is high on many a wish list.

Mauritius

The Maldives

Each holiday with a loved one or best friend is of course special, none more so than to celebrate a honeymoon or special anniversary.
